Bill Brickey

ImageBill has played guitar for 26 years and been a guitar instructor atthe Old Town School for 17 years. Bill graduated in 1989 from Shimer College in Waukegan, IL. While there he studied classical guitar (with Jerry Garcia of the London Philharmonic Orchestra) and performance in Oxford, England. He currently holds a BA in Humanities with a minor in Classical Guitar, Acting, and Film & Video Production. He has received two awards from OTS for inspired teaching and is the founder of the Old Town Schools Juneteenth Programming.Bill has worked in several bands over the years as well as a solo artist here and in England. In England Bill worked the Oxford College playing American Folk Music and Blues with a host of popular tunes from the time. Bill eventually hooked up with BLT an R&B band, with a huge following that features radio worthy originals and a wide variety of covers.Bill works with students that are beginner to intermediate. Styles taught are Pop Music, Folk, Rhythm and Blues, and Rock and Roll. Bill has played guitar for 20 years and taught for 15 years. He also has extensive experience as a performer in music, musical theater, theater and television. While his teaching is primarily on the guitar he has worked before as a vocal and performance coach.
